Chambers Director

Elaine commenced her career as a clerk at XXIV Old Buildings, a Chancery set in Lincoln's Inn, at a time when there were very few women in the profession. She swiftly gained promotion to Fees Clerk, and then found herself in the role of Senior Clerk following the departure of her predecessor.

Having taken a career break to raise her family, Elaine returned to XXIV in the role of Chambers Administrator & PA to the Silks and took on responsibility for the internal financial and premises management of Chambers.

Parting company with them in 2002, Elaine joined the newly formed Selborne Chambers, a property set, where she put in place the financial & administrative systems following its launch and oversaw the complete refurbishment of its premises and IT infrastructure. She subsequently moved to Pump Court Tax Chambers for a brief period before taking over the financial management of Falcon Chambers, one of the leading sets in landlord & tenant law.

Working by this time as a part-time freelance consultant, in 2009 Elaine joined Renaissance Chambers, a public family law & immigration set, as Chambers Manager, a role to which she brought her financial, administrative and marketing skills, remaining until its closure in 2014.

Elaine then set up her own concern, DartLaw Services, where she clerked several former Renaissance family practitioners and provided financial and administrative consultancy services to other members of the Bar.

Having been approached by Shivani in November 2016, she is delighted to be involved in the creation of another new venture and looks forward to working closely with all her Justitia Chambers' members and their clients to help provide the basis for a thriving and vibrant set for the 21st Century.
